An IEC/ISO/IEEE/JWG28 Utility connections in port meeting of Electrical Installations of Ships and of Mobile and Fixed Offshore Units (TC18), which is the Joint Working Group of International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), was held for 4 days from 15-18 May at the headquarters of Terasaki Electric Co.,Ltd.
IEC/ISO/IEEE/TC18/JWG28 is the international committee that aims to formulate international standardization proposals (IEC/ISO/IEEE80005 series) with regard to shore power equipment intending to decrease environmental pollutants discharged from ships by stopping the onboard power generator engines and alternatively supplying the necessary electric power from the shore side. The committee was led by IEC and deliberated by the representatives of ISO and IEEE participated in the meeting ; 23 participants from Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, The US including the host country, Japan.
